This band has been slowly building their fanbase since releasing their album in August of last year. They’ll bring their momentum to Salt Lake (specifically Murray) on February 21st when they play a small room in the Murray Theater. You can get tickets to that show at smithstix.com.
The song “Sometime Around A Midnight” was performed by the band on the Late Show with David Letterman. You definitely should check this performance out.
If you want to hear the song, they have it on their MySpace page. You can also catch the band on Facebook and their official website.

Green River Ordinance, or GRO as they like to call themselves, are a very young band from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The original lineup came together 2003 when brothers Jamey and Geoff Ice put together a band. Several lineup changes later and GRO are poised for a break through year.
Andrew Bird is an artist that, while he flies under the radar, is getting a lot of attention. Locally, he has the number 12 album in Salt Lake City (and nationally). That’s nothing to sneeze at. He was in town last summer as part of the Twilight Concert Series at the Gallivan Center, and it was a heck of a show with a huge crowd. He’ll return in February to the Murray Theater on the 25th. Tickets are $20 ($25 day of) and available through
These Glaswegians first formed their band in 2003 and were quickly the center of a bidding war between several record labels. In the US, Columbia won and released their self-titled debut album earlier this year.
Fiction Family is a collaboration between Switchfoot leader Jon Foreman and Nickel Creek guitarist Sean Watkins. Listeners compared them to XTC and the Beatles, not bad bands to be compared to. They’ve been working together for a few years during breaks on the road with their other bands. Finally, they were able to get a full album’s worth of material and it is out now for you aural enjoyment.
A year ago when we first start playing “Chasing Pavements” on 101.9 The End, we never expected Adele to get four
The other day I posted the video for the new Colplay single, “Life In Technicolor ii,” and today I want to play it for the masses. It’s a song that comes from the band’s Prospekt’s March EP. This EP is the companion to their smash album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends. Together, the two were my album of the year for 2008. The original “Life In Technicolor” is the intro track for Viva, this is a re-imagining of the song, with lyrics, etc. It’s a great track that will surely be a smash.
